PTI Stands against “MAALIK” Banned in Pakistan, Punjab Assembly Senator and PTI Senior Leader Mahmood Rashid Filed Petition in Lahore High Court Against Pakistani Movie “MAALIK” Banned by Pakistan Government.

Petition Said that Movie Banned against the 18th Amendment of the Constitution

“The film portrays the current political scenario of Pakistan. Therefore, the court should declare the ban illegal by all means,” the opposition leader said in his petition.

The ban on the film has been put in place by the federal government.

However, under the 18th Amendment of the Constitution of Pakistan, provinces can set up their own censor boards, and are not required to follow the federal government’s ban.

Speaking to SAMAA, Mubashir Hasan, Chairman of Central Film Censor Board, also defended the ban, saying that the decision was taken over public complaints.
