Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif inaugurate development projects in Bannu

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has said that he wanted to see ‘new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’ as claimed by the provincial government but was disappointed upon his one-day.

He will lay the foundation stone of gas supply project to five union councils of Bannu which will cost 259 million rupees. The project will complete in one year’s time.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate four major highways projects. The Prime Minister will also address a public meeting in Bannu.

PM Sharif is visiting different cities as part of his ‘public contact campaign’ to counter opposition parties, mainly the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

The Prime Minister announced a development package worth Rs 200 million for different areas of the province including Bannu. He also announced the construction of an international airport in Bannu and a university in Lakki Marwat.

The premier decided to adopt the approach to facing off rival PTI on the ground.

Under the campaign, the prime minister will address rallies countrywide and lay foundation stones of different projects. While analysts believe that government was focusing more on restoring its public image in the face of Panama leaks allegation on streets, rather than initiating probe through a judicial commission.

His first rally in this connection was held in Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on April 28.
